Aboriginal Reserve

One of the vast wetlands on the Aboriginal Reserve West of the Daly.
Just showing on the horizon are mountains with what appears to be a flat topped mesa.

A Great bloke and his family

On Thursday 10th July while driving back from Darwin Jeanette answered our mobile to a call from “Dingo”, with an invitation to spend the weekend with he and his family on their traditional lands West of the Daly River NT.
And what a busy weekend it turned out to be arriving after dark Friday night, talking around the camp fire till after 11 pm and up with the camera before dawn.
Wild pigs were hunted, wallaby, kangaroo, and turtles were taken for traditional food. Water lily stems, seeds and whole buds all formed part of our diet, with a special damper for breakfast.
Over a week later still working through all that was learned, and processing photos, however before too much time passes, here are a couple of photos.

Friday Last, Our Night Out

Had a tremendous night out. Went to a fund raiser for the “Make a Wish Foundation” at Banyan Farm. The three course meal was excellent, and the comedian worked none stop from before 7 pm until 10.30pm and with the audience participation that he manipulated caused lots of laughter.
